Who was Monet? You ought to know that. He was the founder of French impressionist painting. Well, what’s that? Well, here’s a little history:
Impressionism: A 19th century art movement originating with of Paris artists. Their paintings included small, thin, visible brush strokes with the intent to emphasize light as it changed to accentuate it’s effects on the subject matter.
Putting that in laymen terms – the paintings sought to show how light affected the impression of the subject being painted.
How all that get’s us to a Monet Arbor, I don’t know. But the Monet Arbor is worth looking at all in itself. Matter of fact, if you want a great way to accent your backyard or garden entrance, this is it. The impressionists would be proud of you!!! We found two – one a little bigger than the other.
