Like Bluebirds? Those fuzzy little blue guys and gals with the orange chests are always looking for a little attention that they don’t often get. If you have perching style bird feeders with seeds, nuts, and berries; the bluebirds aren’t interested – did you ever notice that? Bluebirds do eat a wide variety of insects but also like mealworms when they find them on tray or platform feeders. In addition they eat many berries, like sumac, holly, and elderberry. And can take a fancy to suet if it’s crumbled or shredded. If you want these little creatures to stay around your backyard, take a look at getting a couple bluebird feeders, some mealworms, some suet, and a bag or two of bluebird food.
