Just found a beautiful way to light up any walkway! They are solar powered sparkle cones and not only lighten up but brighten up your night. These are great garden accessories. They come in six different colors so you can mix and match if you want. What we liked was that each cone’s color is mixed in the glass making mixture and not painted on so there’s no chipping away of the color as the months go on. They have a hefty wrought iron spike to hold them in the ground and you can even get a wall mounting ring if you want to use them to add a little color to the patio or run out along a fence. They’re powered with a lithium-ion battery and glow like a candle. Pretty neat huh!!
Looking for a matching set of backyard garden accessories. Look no further. With the Ferro Firenze package from Achla Designs you get a matching ironwork arbor, bench, and two trellises finished in Roman Bronze powder coat. The wrought iron structures draw their inspiration from traditional 18th century Italian design. These are great–no tools needed to assemble and the bench folds flat for handy storage. The trellises are staggered heights and widths so they compliment each other with flexibility and variety. If you have a small, remote area that you want to accent or a special sitting spot that you want to spice up; here’s your chance to make that idea happen. All you need to add are some flowering vines for the arbors and some cool drinks for the sitting!!
Remember when you were growing up you would see plastic pink flamingos in people’s yards? A lot of time they were put there as a joke. Well after all these years, we have a pink flamingo in our back yard; and it’s not plastic! If you make it to the Everglades in south Florida you might see large flocks of American Flamingos perched or strutting around in the brackish shallows of the ocean; it is quite an impressive sight! They are beautiful birds–bright pink with gracefully long legs (one usually tucked up under it) and a white face with an unmistakable black edged beak. Adult Flamingos are rather tall birds measuring between four and five foot tall; but that’s mostly legs. The average weight for an adult is only about five to six pounds (not fit for Thanksgiving dinner). A Pink Flamingo does make a splash as one of the more beautiful garden accessories you could put in your backyard.
Ours did. The old birdbaths we have are so shallow nobody can get a wing wet! We did find some exceptionally pretty ones on the web; and they had deep bowls so the birds can actually get their wings wet. Better yet, these birdbaths we found are made from clay so there’s no metal to get rusty. They also have hand painted designs that make them great garden accessories; they’re bright and colorful. We found two or three that we thought would be perfect in the pine straw islands; the cardinal and the loon are my favorites! You might want to check them out – their reasonably priced for the quality and readily available from stock. Time to get your birds a new bath tub!!
One of what? Something to add color and class to your backyard; that’s what an arbor can do! They are super garden accessories. We had one when we lived in Atlanta. We planted Mandevilla on both sides and watched the vines climb and fill out the entire arbor with flowers; that was neat! An arbor is the perfect accent if you have a walkway from the patio to the backyard; it provides an attractive entranceway. There are so many different types of arbors, and each one has a little history to it so you can do a little research before you buy. Any flowering vine will climb up the sides and you will have an arch of color to walk through and admire. A hidden benefit of the arbor is its low maintenance. We found one that has a matching bench and a pair of matching trellises-take a look.
That’s right – Sea Turtle in the patio! We visit Cancun every year, and the resort we stay at has a unique tradition. The Royal Sands works with the local wildlife group and once or twice a week during the sea turtle hatching season they bring several hundred baby sea turtles to the resort and allow the guests to release them into the ocean after dark. My wife gets a big kick out of carrying the little turtles to the shore, pointing them in the right direction, and watching them crawl to the water and swim out to sea. It’s a big event for the tourists and they check daily to see if tonight is a sea turtle night! Found a good looking replica of a sea turtle that would look good on the backyard deck – take a look and see what you think!
